Vuyolwethu Mtshaka (1992 - )

Vuyolwethu graduated cum laude from the Spier Arts Academy Mosaic Apprenticeship programme in 2019. He was the winner of the prestigious European cultural tour in 2018 and during this trip he gained valuable international installation experience in London, England.


"I love seeing things develop from just an idea to final product, a product that people can see, touch and feel. Mosaic art has taught me to be patient, work hard and it has taught me the importance of working in a team."


Vuyo was featured in a 2019 CNN Inside Africa programme on his experience at Spier Art Academy where he noted his love for the mosaic medium and said: “I never knew you could paint with stones.” He plans to create products and opportunities in art and mosaic that will help improve people’s lives.
