Prettynes Marawu (1993 -)

Prettynes was born and raised in Cape Town, joining Spier Arts Academy in 2016 as a Mosaic Apprentice. She has consistently scored excellent marks in her practical and academic work and was selected to be a Studio Assistant in her final year or apprenticeship.

She believes that mosaic has taught her patience and that she was able to grown her artisanal and business skills.

“I find great satisfaction when I see how broken pieces of stone, that looks like nothing, can be put together and create something beautiful!”

Prettynes will continue to work with Spier Arts Trust as a Journeyman in 2019.
