Mcebisi Malahla (1990 - )
Mce grew up in Mthatha in the Eastern Cape before he came to Cape Town in 2010 and later in 2016 joined Spier Arts Academy as a Ceramic Apprentice.
He likes the science behind what happens to ceramic especially how glazes react when they have been in the kiln. Mce also enjoys the medium because it allows him to create something unique.
When asked what ceramic art has brought to his life, Mce answered:
“It has given me the hope that I can create something out of nothing.”
Mce hopes to open his own studio one day where he can create job opportunities for members from his community.
